Yoga and Alignment for 50+

This specialized workshop is for anyone aged 50+ who wants to adapt and enhance their own yoga practice — and for yoga teachers or movement professionals who want to confidently guide students in this age group in a safe, empowering, and accessible way (and receive CEC's).

Through the lens of the Align Yoga Method, you’ll explore how alignment-focused practices can support healthy aging, improve mobility, build strength, and enhance balance. This half-day session blends functional anatomy with practical teaching strategies, helping you adapt poses for varying levels of flexibility, bone density, joint health, and energy.

In this 4-hour session, you’ll learn:

  • Key alignment and sequencing principles to support aging bodies — whether your own or those of your students
  • Modifications and prop-based variations for common postures to increase comfort, safety, and accessibility
  • Gentle yet effective sequencing to improve stability, mobility, and joint health
  • Breathwork and mindfulness techniques to regulate the nervous system and enhance overall well-being
  • Safety considerations for conditions common in students 50+, such as osteoporosis, arthritis, and balance concerns
